Purchase Returns Purchases
/purchase-return
Records stock returned to a supplier after a purchase, either against an existing purchase or as a standalone return.
The table lists each return's date, reference number, parent purchase (when the return was raised against a specific purchase), location, supplier, payment status, grand total, and payment due, with a footer that totals the grand total and amount due across the filtered list. Filters narrow by business location and date range.
A return can start two ways: from a purchase's own Purchase Return action on /purchases, which pre-fills quantities against that purchase's lines, or from the Add button on this screen for a standalone return not tied to a single purchase. Either way, saving decreases stock at the purchase's location and immediately recalculates the supplier's payment status and balance.
Each row's Actions menu offers Edit (routed to the matching return flow depending on whether the return has a parent purchase), Add Payment (hidden once the return is fully paid), View Payments, and Delete. Deleting a standalone return restores the returned stock and removes its lines; deleting a return linked to a purchase resets that purchase line's returned quantity to zero and restores the stock.
Viewing the list requires purchase.view or purchase.create; creating, editing, or deleting a return requires purchase.update (delete additionally requires purchase.delete).
