Chart of Accounts Accounting
/accounting/chart-of-accounts
Create and manage the business's chart of accounts, viewable as an expandable tree or a filterable table.
This screen lists every accounting account defined for the business. A toggle switches between Tree View (a searchable, expand/collapse hierarchy of parent and child accounts) and Tabular View, which can be filtered by Account Type and Status (Active/Inactive).
Key actions
- Add opens a modal to create an account: name, primary type, account sub type, detail type, optional parent account, and an opening balance field that appears only for sub types configured to show a balance.
- Each account row offers a ledger link that opens the account's transaction ledger, and an activate/deactivate toggle.
- When the business has no accounts yet, a Create Default Accounts action seeds a standard set of roughly 87 common accounts (Accounts Payable, Sales, Inventory, Payroll Expenses, and so on).
All chart-of-accounts actions require the accounting.manage_accounts permission in addition to the accounting_module subscription.
