Submit, review, approve and track employee leave requests, with bulk approval, activity history and carry-forward handling.

The Leaves table lists requests with Ref No, Leave Type, Employee, Date, Reason, Status and Action columns, filterable by leave type via a dropdown above the table. A header checkbox selects rows for bulk status changes or bulk deletion. Which leaves a user sees depends on their permissions: essentials.crud_all_leave shows every leave in the business, essentials.crud_own_leave shows only the user's own, and essentials.approve_leave_own_team additionally shows the requests of their reporting team.

Creating a leave request lets HR select one or more employees, a leave type, a start/end date, and, for leave types that support it, a start/end time for partial-day leave, plus a reason. Approvers with essentials.approve_leave or essentials.approve_leave_own_team change a request's status, and every status change is recorded in the leave's Activity log, viewable from the row.

Leave types themselves, each with a configurable maximum leave count, are managed from this same area, and unused leave can be carried forward between periods based on the business's leave settings.
